You ever have those “Aha” moments when shopping? That “how the heck did I miss this” look hits your face? Well that just happened to me about 20 minutes ago. I’m treating myself to a little bit of shopping at Asos and when I looked at my favorites list I realized something, everything was neutral tones; the camel blazer, to the white and black pieces; I mean literally the only color I had was blush( does that count?). I’m slowly noticing my wardrobe transition from crazy color/prints to a more casual and calmer closet, but it really hit me when all 52 pieces in my favorites list were all neutral. I came across a few How to’s when building a neutral wardrobe and why in fact it’s actually a likeable option.
- My favorite tip by far is that everyone should clean their closet on a regular basis. My motto is always one in, one out. Whenever you buy a shirt, toss out one that you’re not so in love with anymore. Always saves me the hassle of having to do a huge spring/fall cleaning later.
- I am the queen of “throw ones”. I’m the girl that likes to get dressed in under 10 minutes; which is why I’ve been transitioning into neutrals/classics. I just want something easy and simple to wear.
- Quality over quantity was something that took me a long time; hence my pain in the butt forever 21 clothes. It may seem ridiculous to drop $130 on a shirt, but if it’s going to go with everything else in your wardrobe and last 6 years; you might want to grab it! Trust me…I had to learn the hard way.
Hopefully one day my closet will look like these!
