Mac Lipstick Review: Darkside

I’m back with part two of my mac haul; if you missed part one view it here. When I first started with makeup I didn’t understand the importance of having different lip shades for each season but now I can’t imagine things any other way. I’ve been trying to develop my niche in makeup; some people are great at eyeshadow, others eyebrows, and for me its lips. I love matching my lipstick with my outfits or hairstyle for the day. The application is probably a little messy- ya girl was in a rush!  =)

living legend, matte collection, mac, lipstick, Living Legend

Living legend: This lipstick is also from the matte collection. This was the last lipstick i tried on from the collection and as soon as I put it on I was in love. It’s a deep chocolate brown color that would work well with any skin tone. My favorite part is the application. Although this is a matte lipstick it glides on your lips like a satin finish would. I added two photos because I wanted to make sure you guys could get the full effect of the color!

 sin, matte, lipstick, burgundy, mac

Sin: Let me start off by saying I am not a red lipstick person. I know everyone swears that red lips are a must have but I have yet to find one that I really like. That is until I met sin. I really wanted fixed on drama but once again I was slacking on buying it and it sold out fast. I also heard great things about Ruby Woo and Diva but Sin just hit the nail on the head for me. It has this brown/burgundy undertone that I find extremely sexy. Not to mention the name is quite intriguing. Whenever I’m feeling sultry this is my go too! I will say that it is drying but I always exfoliate my lips and apply concealer to help lock in the color.

Smoked purple, lipstick, swatches, mac, matte

Smoked purple/ This is a lipstick I haven’t actually worn yet….i know i know..shame on me. It’s not the lipsticks fault because it is a beautiful color. My main issue is finding a look that compliments the lipstick well. It’s very very dark so you can’t just throw it on with anything. This would be great for a night out on the town or for days where you’ve really done up your makeup. Since my day to day look tends to be natural I don’t find much use for this on the regular but I am excited to try this out soon. This lipstick is also dry to put on, but the color payoff is worth it. If you want to darken it you can line it with a brown liner or if you want to bring out the purple undertone line it with a purple liner (I use nightmoth from MAC).
