1. In case you didnt know my favorite movie is Eay Pray Love. I just love finding others who like it as much as I do!
2. Anybody else going for that minimalistic look. My main goal for 2015.
3. Beautifull photos fo FREE! I love not having to worry about copyright issues.
4. One of the most honest posts about blogging I have ever read. Me summarizing it wouldnt even do it justice. Must go read!
I’m sure by the title you can guess what this post is going to be about but I just felt like the topic was to big to ignore. I am a hugeeeee fan of new year’s resolutions. You can call me cliché, lame, or whatever else you can think but I personally believe that they are very significant. I’m the type of person that thrives when I have a goal in mind. I need structure, consistency, and I also need to know what the prize is going to be when I finally get there. Some goals are monetary: usually involving spending money as opposed to saving it- blame it on my shopping addiction. Others are relationship goals, and when I was in school- well then a poor girl was just trying to graduate. Every year I set new goals/resolutions for myself and every year I reach them. There is something in the air on the night the clock strives 12 that makes me feel like I have this magical reset button. I feel empowered to do anything!
I think the issue with resolutions these days is that people get carried away. How many of you have read a resolutions post with just two resolutions? For some reason people feel the need to get overly specific with things like “practice more yoga, and do more juicing,, as opposed to just saying working on being a healthier person. It’s the little stuff that can start to get tricky. I think every year should be about growth and if you color too much in the lines with all the details then you lose spontaneity. I believe resolutions should give you direction, not a long list of overbearing things to do.
So with that said below are just a few of my goals for 2015!
- Increase outfit photos
- Blog consistently
- Enhance my photography: Lighting, DSLR, etc
- Start a Youtube channel
- Find work( I just moved from LA to SF)
- Move into new apartment: Finally decorate it Pinterest Style!
- Learn to not dwell on the past
- Establish more confidence in myself and my work
What are some of your new year resolutions? What do you think about them?
I’m back with part two of my mac haul; if you missed part one view it here. When I first started with makeup I didn’t understand the importance of having different lip shades for each season but now I can’t imagine things any other way. I’ve been trying to develop my niche in makeup; some people are great at eyeshadow, others eyebrows, and for me its lips. I love matching my lipstick with my outfits or hairstyle for the day. The application is probably a little messy- ya girl was in a rush! =)
Living legend: This lipstick is also from the matte collection. This was the last lipstick i tried on from the collection and as soon as I put it on I was in love. It’s a deep chocolate brown color that would work well with any skin tone. My favorite part is the application. Although this is a matte lipstick it glides on your lips like a satin finish would. I added two photos because I wanted to make sure you guys could get the full effect of the color!
Sin: Let me start off by saying I am not a red lipstick person. I know everyone swears that red lips are a must have but I have yet to find one that I really like. That is until I met sin. I really wanted fixed on drama but once again I was slacking on buying it and it sold out fast. I also heard great things about Ruby Woo and Diva but Sin just hit the nail on the head for me. It has this brown/burgundy undertone that I find extremely sexy. Not to mention the name is quite intriguing. Whenever I’m feeling sultry this is my go too! I will say that it is drying but I always exfoliate my lips and apply concealer to help lock in the color.
Smoked purple/ This is a lipstick I haven’t actually worn yet….i know i know..shame on me. It’s not the lipsticks fault because it is a beautiful color. My main issue is finding a look that compliments the lipstick well. It’s very very dark so you can’t just throw it on with anything. This would be great for a night out on the town or for days where you’ve really done up your makeup. Since my day to day look tends to be natural I don’t find much use for this on the regular but I am excited to try this out soon. This lipstick is also dry to put on, but the color payoff is worth it. If you want to darken it you can line it with a brown liner or if you want to bring out the purple undertone line it with a purple liner (I use nightmoth from MAC).
If you missed part one of my mac haul check it out here!
Most of these lipsticks appear on my instagram so if you would like to see more swatches be sure to check it out there!
HI everybody! So glad to be blogging again. I took quite the break; i needed the holiday time to just refresh and regroup. I also moved back to SF! Yay! But Anywho enough about that, lets jump right too it. I wanted to show you a few goodies I got from Mac. I absolutely love shopping there, its my favorite go to place for lipsticks. I dont really buy anything else from there because I feel like the rest of their stuff is a little overpriced; but the lipsticks are too die for. Ive been slowlely building my collection over time-see other posts here-, but one thing I noticed I dont have in my collection are good nudes. I usually go for the vibrant pinks n purples but I dont have any nudes or reds. Below are a few things that I got! You will notice my lips are peeling because I tried all of these lipsticks on in succession. So just ignore that part =)
