Some links I’ve been loving this week! Oh and a little quote to tag along
1. I’ve been trying to do the cat eye for foreverrrrrrrrrrr and have never seen ANYTHING that I may possibly be able to pull off, this scotch tape idea is brilliant! Will defienetly try it soon!
2. I love a good contour. I’m actually planning on making a visit to my local Mac store and picking up some goodies. So I was thrilled when I saw this post.
3. I only breakout in certain areas of my face. Never quite understood why, but this guide was so helpful! I was number 4 and number 5!
4. Hashtag instagram tips: Which is great for me. I have started an instagram but havent quite mastered it yet. I dont use it alot and I know that I should.
5. I love all white rooms, I wanted to do this to my house but since I have dogs I try not to give them anything they can ruin! Figure having white in the bedroom is less of a risk.
Anyone who lives in La knows that our lives literally revolve around traffic. Whether you live in Hollywood or all the way in the valley your commute to anywhere is hell. It’s safe to say I basically live out of my car. I have about 3 commuter mugs that I rotate throughout the week, multiple soda cans in the back of my car (empty might I add) and a ton of other junk I’m too embarrassed to say. My car, my commute, my life is one big hot mess and I knew I had to do something fast to fix it. In a perfect world I would buy a new car, something fancy so I wouldn’t be tempted to trash it. But since this girl is currently ballin on a budget I tried to think of other ways to organize my life
My first love has always been the Bay Area. I could spend hours talking about my love and passion for all the encompassing cities, the thick fog that chills you ever morning and of course my favorite…food! Leaving has been one of my most triumph moments and yet a deep regret. I miss it tremendously, but moving to LA also gave me a sense of independence that I probably would have never had living at home. Lately I’ve tossed around the idea of relocating in which I may go through a period of unemployment during that transition. When I graduated college and first started looking for work, I dealt with a bit of depression. I kept asking myself “Did I just bust my butt through 4 years of college to get this amazing degree and I still can’t find a job?” I gave myself 3 months to find something (before I really just lost my mind) and by the start of the 2nd month I found Hudson Jeans. Looking back I realize I could have done so much more with my time besides sitting there worrying myself to death. In preparation for round 2 of job hunting I wanted to better utilize my experience and really take this opportunity to make myself a well-rounded person. Btw I just decided this is going to be my New Year’s resolution. The year 2015 will be my year of regrowth; but I’ll save that blog post for later. Figured I should get some books to help this whole process and I stumbled across this little list of good reads.
Ps: My favorite is the Nina Garcia book of 100 items. How cool would it be to buy one a month and review it with you guys!?
Is it just me or does Mac always get you to buy at least one thing from their collections? I mean they come out with one or sometimes two collections a month, and every time I have a mini heart attack. I keep telling myself I reallllly don’t need a need another lipstick. What kills me is when its limited edition; do I buy it because I can’t get it again? or what happens if you buy it, love it and can’t get it anymore?. At the end of the day I fall for it, and today my pocket is $16 lighter. I will say (pat myself on the back for this one), that instead of buying the lipstick while online I waited to go in store to try the swatch in person; just in case I didn’t like it. Today I decided to pick up: Creme in my Coffee.
It’s a light pink creamsheen, which actually looks very similar to lipgloss. Here is the story about this lipstick (I believe every lipstick should have a story..fyi). I went into Mac a while ago trying to find a nice nude. I tried on velvet teddy, and a few others but everything was making me look pale; so I decided to go with Twig. It has a nice shimmer and it’s a pink tinted nude so I lost the -my lips look dry- factor. It’s pretty but it’s a little bit more pink than I bargained for; hence me finding crème in my coffee. I love that it looks just like my viva glam vi lipglass but because it’s a creamsheen it doenst have the stickiness that usually comes with liploss (winning!!)
Pro: The color is very build able. It’s great for a base or tone down some bright colors like velvet teddy, or snob etc.
Con: It wears off and by the end of the day it looks like I never had anything on. It’s already a sheer color so when you eat or whatever it washes off very easy. I may have to use a lip liner too lock in the color.
This was my first creamsheen and I love it! What’s your favorite Mac nude?
